The 37Cl solar neutrino detector in the Homestake Gold Mine consists of 615 tons of tetrachloroethylene, 4200 m of water equivalent underground. It uses radiochemical techniques to determine the 37Ar production rate. The detector was built at BNL in 1965-67 and operated by Brookhaven until 1984. At that time the laboratory was transferred to Penn U. Collecting data regularly since 1970.
